Celebrating the past and the future

A festive celebration will be staged jointly by the Technical University Darmstadt, Darmstadt – City of Science and the town of Griesheim on 30th and 31st August 2008 to mark the centenary of the historic August-Euler Aerodrome and to honour its glorious past and the pioneering spirit of August Euler who founded this aerodrome in 1908.

Come and celebrate with us and support this important monument to aviation history!

Displays by planes from various historical periods and sightseeing flights over the nature reserve will be just two of the entertainments on offer.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy an entertaining and educational programme of activities. The newly inaugurated August-Euler Information Centre will be showcasing interesting, informative and easily understandable exhibitions on the history of the aerodrome and the life and works of August Euler, on the research developments of the Technical University since its foundation and on the very special characteristics of the unique nature reserve.
